Being scared of heights is totally weird. I always knew I was on solid ground, always several feet away from anything that might be considered an edge, but still, I kept catching views out of the corner of my eye that made my stomach lurch.

This picture below is low quality (camera phone!), so you can't tell that fog is covering all but the very top of the Golden Gate Bridge in the very far distance. But trust me, that's what this is a picture of.

There was one spot where I could see a girl standing with a kite, and it looked just like she was at the very end of the world, or flying over the city below, and I couldn't even take a picture because just looking at her for a few seconds made me have to find a bench and sit down for a few minutes. Here's the view from that bench. That's a bay view, looking east, for those of you who are keeping score.

I loved seeing these two people in the distance. I should have touched these rocks that are crumbling off the hill, but I only just now realized that I wonder what they feel like. I guess I'll have to go back up there...seriously, I'm terrified of those hills, but I think I want to live up there if I ever move again (not likely).

After I stopped goofing around on top of the city, I saw this street sign that reminded me of where I come from (the state and the grandmother).
